We started the first day of the COMMON FUTURE Ukraine Reconstruction Congress with a plenary session:

Central Europe - friend in need or partner in reconstruction?

The session's theme focused on Central Europe's role in Ukraine's reconstruction - as a region that not only supports Ukraine in difficult times, but one that has the potential to become a key partner in its reconstruction. Panelists shared visions for long-term cooperation, discussing the challenges and opportunities of the process.

The discussions were full of inspiring thoughts, analysis and concrete action plans that bring us closer to a shared future. Among the panelists were:

  • Dr. Malgorzata Bonikowska, President of the Center for International Relations
  • Mihnea Drumea, Secretary of State, General Secretariat of the Government of Romania
  • Andrius Kalindra, Ambassador-at-large for Reconstruction of Ukraine, Lithuania
  • Pawel Kowal, Chairman of the Commission for Cooperation with Ukraine of the Prime Minister's Office
  • Alena Sabelová, Secretary of State, Office of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic
  • Andriy Sadovyy, Mayor of the City of Lviv

During the COMMON FUTURE Congress on Reconstruction of Ukraine, an agreement was signed between the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy and the Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego.

Prof. Marta Postula, First Vice President of the National Economy Bank, underlined: “We will launch the instrument immediately and entrepreneurs will be able to take advantage of it from January 1, 2025 at the latest. The maximum support will be PLN 10 million for one entity, in order to include as many companies as possible in the program. If the tool proves itself, we will consider expanding it.”

Pawel Kowal, Chairman of the Committee on Cooperation with Ukraine of the Prime Minister's Office, added, “The instrument should be named Common Future or Common Future, like the congress during which it was signed. Poland needs economic ties with Ukraine to promote our cooperation after the war - this is a key element of the accession negotiations.”

Minister Konrad Wojnarowski noted: “Up to PLN 10 million in preferential loans is a significant support for Polish entrepreneurs and an aspiration for cooperation with Ukraine. We congratulate the future beneficiaries.”

Filip Bittner, Vice President of the MTP Group, stressed: “This congress should be an annual platform for discussions on the reconstruction of Ukraine. We are pleased that BGK and the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy at our event concluded such an important agreement.”

Stay tuned for more updates on the Congress!
